A Broken Paradelle

A Broken Paradelle

Never drop a glass vase on the pavement
Never drop a glass vase on the pavement
Or else the flowers will die in your care
Or else the flowers will die in your care
The pavement will die, or else your care
Never on a drop in the glass vase flowers.

The red bowl will shatter if you hit it
The red bowl will shatter if you hit it
Across the table and off of the ledge
Across the table and off of the ledge
If the ledge hit it across and off,
You will shatter the table of the red bowl.

Always hold your hot mug with two hands
Always hold your hot mug with two hands
Otherwise it may fall and crack open
Otherwise it may fall and crack open
Open hands hold hot with two, always
It may otherwise crack your mug and fall.

Never hold your pavement, your hot mug
A vase may otherwise shatter, else, if you care
The flowers fall across it and die red
Will the glass with two hands on drop,
Or will the bowl in the table crack
Always hit it open and off of the ledge.

For this paradelle, I focused on things that could break. This is why I picked a bowl, a mug, and a vase. This made it easy to include imagery in my poem.

Paradelle for Utah

Paradelle for Utah

The stars turn always above me
The stars turn always above me
They're brighter in Utah
They're brighter in Utah
Always brighter, they're me.
In Utah, turn above in the stars.

Your speakers stutter on the bass
Your speakers stutter on the bass
We all drive better through the desert
We all drive better through the desert
Drive your speakers better on the desert,
we all stutter through the bass

My hands shake in the frost
My hands shake in the frost
I breathe in miles of air
I breathe in miles of air
Frost breathe, my hands in miles
Shake I of the air

The bass brighter drive speakers in the desert
Through miles of frost, the air of shakes
Hands, they're stars! stutter above me

Utah the I.

I'd just come back from Utah before writing this poem, and I felt that the paradelle would capture the experience pretty well.

This poem comes from the fact that my response to any question is "just Google it". Electronics and the internet are become so important in our everyday lives, I don't think I could even drive to someplace that isn't with 2 miles, without using a GPS or Google

A Space Knight With A.D.D.

Maddie Perry Paradell

December

chopping at the root, down it goes.
chopping at the root, down it goes.
pine needles cover the floor,
pine needles cover the floor.
lights hug the branches tightly.
the tree glistens

delicate glass ornaments are hung,
delicate glass ornaments are hung,
some slipping, slipping and crash
some slipping, slipping and crash
ornaments hung are glass and delicate
crash.

warm Gingerbread wafts throughout the warm fireplace air
warm gingerbread wafts throughout the warm fireplace air
fire crackling, popping, and chestnuts burn
fire crackling, popping and chestnuts burn
the warm air, crackling as the gingerbread wafts throughout the fireplace

glass lights glisten throughout
branches chopped are crackling in the fireplace
delicate ornaments hug the pine
and slipping needles cover the floor

burn the chestnuts and waft gingerbread

This poem came to us from the example you explained at the start of class. When the lady booed him because of his basic and "not best" work it made us think of typical poems. With the holiday season coming up a Christmas poem we thought would fit the description of a typical poem with the "christmasy" adjectives and lines, this is what sparked the idea for our poem.
